Nothing Video now live!

In celebration of International Nothing Day on January 16th, the Original Beekeepers have recorded a dreamy new song called "Purposeful Attempts To Do Nothing" with a video from the House of Three Cheers. It’s a tribute to doing nothing... and wearing slippers.

The song is powered by the Omnichord — a wonderful early eighties novelty keyboard from Suzuki which sits somewhere between a Casio and a stylophone.

Steve from the band says, “We started the song in 2003 and only got round to finishing it this week. Between then and now there has been a lot of purposeful attempts to do nothing. Enjoy x”

Highlights in the issue include:  A brand-new Lucy story, in which our lovelorn lass goes on a date with a boffin who believes that the universe is 99.99999% nothing, therefore the bit that isn't nothing should also be considered statistically nothing. Poems about dashing about, far-out Bob Ross, Irish coffee and hot pastrami, remains, potato mulch, and silence  A neuropsychological exploration by Mr Hobbs of Milton Keynes And introducing Stinkpot and Dave Lucas, who drive about in a van looking for ways to make money  Dreams, drawings, schemes and more The launch will be accompanied by a new song by the Original Beekeepers, "Purposeful Attempts to Do Nothing" What is National Nothing Day?  It’s an "un-event" whose  aim is to “provide people with one national day when they can just sit, without celebrating, observing or honouring anything” It was first proposed in 1972 b

National Fritters Day round up

In December the House of Three Cheers published Three Cheers for Fritters , in celebration of National Fritters Day on December 2nd.  The publication was marked by several events including a pop-up shop at Alexandra Palace in North London and an impromptu flyby in Muswell Hill village centre , where booklets were distributed by a mysterious member of the House wearing a custom apron emblazoned with a fritter.  It was a huge success and many more surprise events will be held to announce upcoming booklets. Here's the front cover of the booklet and the poster for the launch events: The booklet contained silly things on the theme of fritters.  Here's a selection: In addition to the booklet, an  EP of fritter music   was created and released by   The Original Beekepers .  All in all, a frittertastic time was had by all!
